We have completed the December 2022–May 2023 season of Culture Caravan, an educational initiative in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Over the season, we organized 15 events attended by around 25–40 people each, with some gatherings reaching 60 participants. The programme included two discussions, three workshops and ten lectures.
Eight speakers and discussion guests across five Tashkent venues explored Uzbekistan’s history, cinema, writing systems, the city’s architecture, digital technologies (my subject), theatre, education, finance and philanthropy.
A regular community of listeners formed around these events. I am grateful to everyone who came and to my fellow organizers. This cultural activity inspired and supported many of us through difficult times.
An archive of the events, including many recordings, is available on the project website and on our YouTube channel.
